Cubebot is a wooden toy robot inspired by Japanese Shinto Kumi-ki puzzles. Made from wood and elastic, Cubebot can be positioned to hold dozens of poses. When it's time to rest, Cubebot folds back into a perfect cube. A classic toy for all ages that will endure generations of play.

David Weeks for Areaware

David Weeks was born in Madison, WI, raised in Athens, GA, and educated in Providence, RI where he received his BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. Weeks founded his namesake studio in 1996 as an umbrella for his diverse interests, ranging from metal fabrication techniques to contemporary toy culture. Brooklyn’s unique amalgam of the industrial and the artisanal informed Weeks’ sensibility, and his work in turn helped define the independent design movement that took root there: one that championed the maker and whetted contemporary styling and old-school craftsmanship.

Areaware creates objects and gifts for home, work, and play in collaboration with independent designers. They are dedicated to creating functional and uplifting objects, designed with integrity. Above all else, designers are at the heart of what they do.
