What does Chicago look like through the outsider eyes of New York–based painter and filmmaker Sarah Morris? This large-scale, ten-color, silkscreened poster was designed by Morris in collaboration with M/M, Paris for her film Chicago (2011). Chicago is Morris’s tenth film and part of an ongoing series of city portraits. It is available both signed and unsigned. This item will incur a $10 shipping surcharge.
Sarah Morris is an internationally recognized for her complex abstractions, which play with architecture and the psychology of urban environments. Morris views her paintings as parallel to her films--both trace urban, social and bureaucratic topologies. Set to a hypnotic electronic score by British artist Liam Gillick, Morris’s film Chicago pays homage to the quintessential American city as a part of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago exhibition, CITY SELF.
The exhibition CITY SELF was presented at the MCA Nov 29, 2013-Apr 13, 2014. Learn more.
